Kitten Face takes a Vacation

On Vacation!

Kitten Face is going on a vacation.  She will be certain to write letters while on her travels...and can't wait to share all her kitten stories upon her return!  Stay tuned.

Spring Sweatshirt!

Kitten Face has a new sweatshirt...all about spring! This jersey piece depicts all her favourite things about this season: birds, blossoms and blooming love! What are your favourite things about spring? Kitten Face wants to know, just in case she needs to get another sweatshirt made!

Kitten Steps

Kitten Face is not known for being much of a risk taker, well except for maybe in her fashion choices.  She refuses to ride the tallest water slide at the 'Splash Splash' park with Puppy-Eyes, because she fears both heights and getting wet, she shudders at the thought of downhill skiing because let's face it, for a kitten she has surprisingly terrible balance and finally she is not all that into hiking down in 'Butterfly Valley' because of all the butterflies and what she considers their incredibly unpredictable and frightening flight patterns!

So in an effort to change this image and after significant encouragement from Puppy-Eyes (he would really like to take her to Butterfly Valley on a picnic), she has decided to add one 'living on the edge' moment to her daily routine.  Today she mastered riding her tricycle with one paw...tomorrow she may try two...and who knows maybe after enough of these 'kitten steps' she will one day be ready to take on butterflies.

Sock Collection

As promised, Kitten Face's sock collection. Any suggestions for new pairs she should think of acquiring to help round out her collection? 

Salty Heart Ache

Kitten Face stayed in this Sunday afternoon to watch a sentimental movie.  She burrowed deep into her couch and let the afternoon sun tuck around her.  By the end of the movie her face was filled with tears and cheesy crumbs...it was very messy.  In an effort to pull herself out of her movie induced heart ache she stood up and focused all her energies on thinking about the good things around her...like the cupcakes in the fridge, or the lilacs beginning to blossom and of course her sweet friend Puppy Face.  These thoughts mixed well with the end of after noon light and she wrapped them both around her tight and sunk back into the couch, creating her own cushiony cocoon and sunshine and happiness.

Kitten Socks!

Kitten Face loves socks!  The only issue is that socks don't usually come in size 'Kitten' (Kitten size is at least 5 times smaller than a regular small).  This means her socks almost always slouch and bunch around her ankles and toes, often resulting in tumbles, trips and falls.  Kitten Face doesn't seem to mind though, this is the price one must pay for warm paws! And so her sock collection grows!
A collection she is sure to share here one day.

Sunday Chores

Fact: Kitten Face is afraid of her vacuum.  This makes doing Sunday chores much more stressful than need be.

Hard Work

Kitten Face has recently taken up aerobics to help shed a bit of her 'winter coat' and boost her energy.  Today was her first workout...it was almost successful.  She managed to pick out quite an awesome leotard, but after all that decision making she needed a nap.  Maybe tomorrow she will get to the exercise.

Spring Clutter

Let's face it, who isn't longing for spring at the end of a cold March?  These days, Kitten Face can barely see through the flora and fauna cluttering her dreams. It's a beautiful mess.

Super Moon

Puppy Eyes asked Kitten Face to accompany him on a star gazing date on Saturday night.  Kitten Face accepted immediately! It was the perfect opportunity for her to wear her brand new dress and she loved star hunting with Puppy Eyes!  He was the best at finding new constellations, like the 'cupcake cluster' and of course the 'dancing panda' that seemed to be doing a new dance every time they went out. 'He is quite a clever puppy' thought Kitten Face.

Puppy Eyes was of course incredibly nervous as he always when he took Kitten Face out on a date, beingt completely head over tails for her!  He fretted over which bow tie to wear and worried that he wouldn't be able to remember any of the previous constellations he had found on their last 'star gazing' outing and would inevitably be forced to find new ones.

He was certain Kitten Face was going to catch on to his lack of constellation knowledge every time he pointed out the 'Dancing Panda'.  That darn 'star bear' seemed to learn a new dance move every night.

When they met up Puppy Eyes was sweating profusely, but Kitten Face didn't notice a thing.  She remarked on his dapper bow tie and he complimented her new dress.  When they finally looked up into the sky they were both taken aback by a giant super moon intensely starring back at them and suddenly all the constellations were forgotten.  Kitten Face took Puppy Eyes hand in hers and they sat for a long time looking up at the bright night light in the sky and let the stardust get in their eyes.

It was a warm and fuzzy moment.

Rumours

It's mid March and the weather is behaving strangely. While out on her evening stroll, Kitten Face saw a storm of rain and snow. As the snow flakes fell and landed on her sweater in a pretty pattern, they sprouted blossoms and leaves, and whispered rumours of sunshine and warmth in her ears. Her tail twitched with delight as she crammed handfuls of soggy flakes into her pockets. Later she buried them in pots on her window sill and waited patiently for the rumours to bloom.

Fashion Statement

In an attempt to brighten up a dreary winter's day, Kitten Face tried to bring the jumpsuit back into style.  Unfortunately, the combination of her left over curtain fabric and limited sewing skills resulted in an outfit that could only be described as 'Clown Chic' rather than 'High Fashion'.

Nap Time.

It should be noted that Kitten Face is very enthusiastic about napping and especially napping in boxes! Recently, after purchasing a new pair of wellies (her last pair lost in a puddle lake) she realized that she had also acquired a perfectly fine box for napping.  Kitten Face immediately jumped inside, squirmed about until she was in just the right position for napping and promptly fell asleep.  Later on, the night fell out of the ceiling on glittery strings and her wellies did a rain dance quietly in the corner.

Imitation Sky Shadow.

On Monday night, Kitten Face found herself once again in front of the mirror trying to find the perfect eyeshadow to match her brand new sweater. She wanted to look her absolute best for her 'friend date' with Puppy Eyes, at the library later that evening.

She gave these three looks a go:

1. The Rainbow, which just seemed to loud for the library.
2. The Smokey, which she decided against fearing it was too hot for all the paperbacks and thus a potential fire hazard.
3. The Imitation Sky, which was a nice reminder of something she loved to stare into, but found in the end that the sky is much better to look at, rather than to wear.

Finally after all the fuss, she decided that the 'au naturel' was her best bet. What do you think?

Puddle Lake

On her way home, Kitten Face stepped into a puddle that was really a lake! Her wellies fell off and floated away.  After some time bobbing around in the blue abyss she met a lovely sea monster named Fred.  They traded addresses and promised to keep in touch.  Fred also said he would keep an eye out for her boots!

The Cupcake Sweater

Today required some sugar, so Kitten Face wore one of her favourite sweaters to go out to the sweet shop down the street. It was cupcake camouflage!
